TWO WILD ANIMALS IN WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOPS
with JAKE WINKLE

Snow Leopard: 9.30am - 12.30pm
Tiger: 1.30pm - 4.30pm
Inspired by light and movement, Jake's paintings are a reflection of the world around him. Jake is returning to show us how to create a Snow Leopard (morning session) and a Tiger (afternoon session), using images from his gallery. We will follow a step by step process painting in watercolours to develop some truly unique paintings. Suitable for all levels. You will need your own watercolour paints and paper.
Jake exhibits widely in the South of England and in 2004 was a finalist in the Daily Mail's 'Not The Turner Prize' competition. In 2007 his work was selected for the Royal Society of British Artists exhibition in The Mall Galleries, London, and from that time he has been contributing regular articles about his painting style for The Artist magazine. Jake has been the subject of three instructional DVD's by Townhouse Films: Watercolour from Dark to Light, Light and Movement in Watercolour and most recently Going Wild in Watercolour. Jake's book Light and Movement in Watercolour was first released in 2012.
Price: £45 for each workshop, or £90 for both. Those who stay for both workshops will be invited to join us for a delicious lunch.
Refreshments are included in both workshops.

MANDALA DOTTING WORKSHOP with ANGELIQUE SAMADHI

Come and unleash your creative skills while you slip into the zone of relaxation... and you'll take home some fabulous coloured glass bottles full of light!
By popular demand, the Guild of Essex Craftsmen's Angelique Samadhi returns for another fun workshop.
This workshop is great for beginners. You don't need to bring anything except your sense of fun and creativity! And once you've painted your bottles, Angelique will supply everyone with a string of lights each to make them shine.
Price £50 includes all materials, welcome cuppa, refreshments and cake.

GLASS FUSION WORKSHOP with LAURA BROOKS-PAYNE
Saturday 5th October 2024 at Little Berkhamsted
10am - 1pm
This fun fused glass hanging panel workshop is ideal for both beginners and those who have dabbled a bit with fused glass previously.
You will learn about the art of glass fusing following a short tutorial on different glass types, an introduction to sheet glass, frit (crushed glass) and stringers (threads of glass). You will be able to use all of these to create a picture or an abstract design. You will practice how to cut glass safely.
Laura will guide you though the process step by step. You don't have to be creative to do this workshop, as the effects of the glass will do this for you! Your finished design will then need to go through the kiln, cool and will be ready for collection 7-10 days later.
The glass panels will come with a glass hanger and ribbon included in the price. Alternatively, you may wish to purchase a beautiful oak stand for your free standing panel, which is a small extra charge of £5, payable on the day. The oak stand shows off your work very well, but the choice is yours.
Price £65 includes a welcome cuppa, refreshments and cake, all materials and firing.

FLOWERS IN ACRYLICS WORKSHOP with PHILLIPPA GUNN

We are happy to welcome back the amazing Phillippa Gunn, who will be helping us recreate her ever popular flower landscapes in acrylics.
Phillippa's style is fun and funky, and her previous workshops with us have featured quirky Highland cows and flamingos. Phillippa teaches step by step with clear and simple instructions, and will be on hand to guide us all the way with her entertaining style. All materials are supplied, making this creative workshop suitable for both beginners and artists of all levels. This is a great way to have a go at acrylic painting – once you try, you may be hooked!
Price £50 including all materials, welcome cuppa, refreshments and cake.
FAB FELT WORKSHOP with KAREN SCOTT

at Epping Golf Course
10am - 1pm
Come along and experience the therapeutic craft of needle felting, and you'll create a fabulous needle felted hanging decoration to take home! All materials and tools are supplied, and beginners are welcome. Our talented tutor Karen Scott from Felt Sew Crafty will show us step by step how to wrap a wire frame, and needle felt a background colour. Then the creativity starts as you develop your countryside scene - either be guided by the artist's own pattern, or for the more adventurous, take the opportunity to create your own! Either way, you will take home a piece of woolly art to be proud of.

CANDLE MAKING WORKSHOP with ANNE NUDD
Saturday 19TH October 2024 at Little Berkhamsted
10am - 1pm
Join candle maker Anne Nudd for a relaxing morning making candles - no previous experience is needed, just come along and learn a new skill. We will use two types of soy wax with a range of fragrance, oils and dyes to choose from so you can create your own unique candles to take home.
You will learn about candle making equipment, different waxes, wicks and containers while making an 18cl amber glass candle with gold lid, a 9cl gold tin candle with lid, wax melts with botanicals, and some tea lights. Come along and enjoy yourselves!
Price £65 including all materials, a welcome cuppa, refreshments and cake.

Come and join Nicky Hunter for this amazing Watercolour Workshop which, while being perfect for most levels, is not suitable for complete beginners. The aim will be to create expressive paintings in watercolour of our favourite woodland creatures, using a loose and lively watercolour method. Students will observe Nicky painting a watercolour artwork in stages and will create their own artworks using the techniques that are demonstrated, with Nicky's guidance and support.
The aim is to improve students’ knowledge and painting skills using loose and lively watercolour methods and managing wet into wet technique. You will learn how to keep whites fresh and colours transparent so your artworks sing with radiance! Nicky will teach elements of good picture making such as effective layout and composition and how to use soft edges and strong tonal values to make your paintings sing from the page.
Workshop runs from 10am-4pm. Price £85 includes all day refreshments and a two-course lunch. Free parking.

Follow a step by step approach to creating your own unique Christmas cards in this lively watercolour workshop. Our inspiring tutor Deana will show us how to create vibrant, exciting watercolour paintings that can be individually mounted.
Deana will supply all painting materials and also blank cards and envelopes for everyone. No experience is needed - this session is suitable for all levels.

FESTIVE FOOD GIFTS WORKSHOP

Cookery expert Jan Stevens will show us how to make some amazing Christmas food gifts in this fun and friendly festive workshop.
We will be creating chocolate truffles and gingerbread stained glass window biscuits - all materials will be provided, and you will take home gifts which will be gift wrapped in cellophane ready for you to proudly present to your loved ones!
We will make two types of chocolate truffles using dark and white chocolate rolled in different coatings, and gingerbread stained glass window biscuits which can be used as tree decorations.
We will aim for you to take home 12 truffles per person, plus 6 gingerbread stained glass window biscuits, all packed and ready for presenting.
Price £45 includes all your ingredients and cello bags, plus a welcome cuppa and festive refreshments.
